Aston Martin DB11 Volante is bite the back of your hand beautiful

DB11Volante08-jpg

Nobody will argue that Aston Martins are pretty cars. Some are, however, prettier than others. When it comes to the DB11 grand tourer, chopping the roof off adds to the visual appeal of the car. We’re happy to report that the DB11 Volante is here, and starts at a scant $216,495.

Some things to note about this particular drop-top Aston. First and foremost, it appears to only be available with the V8 engine. That V8 engine, sourced from Mercedes-Benz but tuned specifically for this car, produces over 500 horsepower. It shouldn’t be a slouch, but we are fans of all V12 engines and hope to eventually see it in the droptop.

Also, Aston Martin tested the convertible top unlike any other convertible they’ve produced before. They simulated an entire life cycle of the top in the course of a month, raising and lower it a staggering 100,000 times. Aston Martin also conducted these tests in some of the harshest weather conditions on the planet.
