Are you still concerned that the new Ford Bronco won’t have the off-road chops of a proper SUV? Well, it’s probably safe to say that you can put that to rest, thanks to Dana winning the contract to build the axles for the new Bronco and Ranger.
That’s right folks, the new Ford Bronco (and Ranger) will have the latest Dana solid axle offerings. Who else uses Dana axles? That’s right, the Jeep Wrangler.
Our pal Tyrel Linkhorn at The Toledo Blade reports the great news. It’s great news for fans of a proper off-roading Bronco, but it’s also good for the people of Toledo, Ohio where Dana builds the axles.
There is so much winning going on here it’s difficult to explain. More money for Dana means more research and development money to make new products. Supplying more OEMs with axles helps improve the quantities of scale that come with manufacturing. Plus, it helps a local community that I’m close to.
Add that to the removable roof panels that our Mark from TTAC announced on a recent podcast, and we have the potential makings of something great.
