Performance Pack 2 debuts with 2018 Ford Mustang GT

Mustang Performance Pack Level 2 (3)

Ford has long been converting the Mustang from a muscle car into a sport car. Some would argue that the S550 generation of the Mustang completed that transition. The Shelby GT350 and GT350R are also great examples of sports cars with a Mustang badge. But perhaps the closest to the sports car experience is the 2018 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack 2.

Standard MagneRide magnetorheological ride control dampers is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission and some incredibly wide tires to make the Mustang GT handle like it never has before. Additionally, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires provide copious amounts of grip. A new front splitter and functional rear wing add downforce. It was a skunkworks project of Mustang engineers who wanted to build the car that THEY would want to drive.

Check out the full details in the press release below and if you want to order one of these cars, a dealership can help you with that now. They’ll go into production in the spring.
