Kendra says, “I was always into trucks and fast cars, but I never thought I would end up with a Jeep.”

When you want to get a family car, but never want to be in a minivan, a Jeep is a very cool alternative. Since she also loves speed, of course when she was searching for a Jeep, she was searching for a Hemi heart as well.

She ended up in what she described as a rugged, peppy, and great all-around vehicle; a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) Hemi. Though it took some time and convincing, she began to plan her build. She started with a spacer lift and wheels spacers for some stance, but that was no good. She wanted to be able to head to the desert and enjoy the Jeep to its full potential. She needed quality parts, and her husband knew just what to do… so they began to design!

They planned on a very unique system; one you will not find for sale anywhere on google—a first of its kind mid-travel suspension for the WK. This included designing and fabricating 2″ longer upper and lower front control arms, 2″ longer CV’s, custom Fox 2.5 coil overs, custom rear UCAs and LCAs, and lastly, fox shocks in the rear. Thanks to her very cool vision, and her husband’s design and fabrication skills, she now has a one-of-a-kind Jeep, that can take the kids to school by week (in style), and hit some sweet jumps by weekend.

“Of course one can never stop modifying their jeep, so who knows what is next for it.” Kendra says. She makes an extremely relatable point for many!

I highly recommend checking out the thread for her build. It includes specs, drafts of the plans, photos, and important learning points. You can check it out here64- Desert Jeep-3
