Modern Street Hemi Shootout

To conclude the 2017 season, Atco Raceway held the last Modern Street Hemi Shootout until next Spring. A day of bracket racing between mostly modern Mopar enthusiasts, but a few old schools, some euros, drag cars, and bikes made an appearance as well.

A few crazy things happened this Saturday, including a new record being set for the full weight Jeep. The previous record was 8.72 for the 1/4 mile and was beat by 0.01 seconds by Cody Scott in his SRT WK1 Jeep, making the new record 8.71 seconds.

Additionally, a race was held between two challengers— the first of (maybe?) more rounds of THE Show Car Outlaws. Galvatron and SickHemi lined up at the tree. Two grand was put up by a third party to get this race going, and SickHemi took the win. Juan Pabey, owner of the winning challenger, pledged $500 of the winnings to the American Diabetes Association and $1,500 will go to Autism Speaks.

To save the best for last, many laughs, new memories, first runs, new personal bests, new and old friends, and tons of other sweet cars filled November 4th. What more could you ask for?
