Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Launched in Geneva

Now you can take four other people with you at speeds in excess of 180 mph. Porsche has made good on the Panamera 4 Sport Turismo concept they revealed way back in 2012. Launched today in Geneva, the 2017 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo option comes on all Panamera 4 models. This includes the E-Hybrid model.

The Sport Turismo is a stylish five seater with hatchback styling. By raising the rear roof line, Porsche has increased storage space to an impressive 1,390 liters, or 1,295 if you buy the E-Hybrid version. Panamera 4 Sport Turismo also comes in a turbo variant, bringing five people from 0 to 60mph around four seconds. All five powerplants currently available in the Panamera lineup are available in Sport Turismo models.

Porsche doesn’t actually call the Sport Turismo a true five seater. They’ve called it a “4+1”, and one look in the rear makes it clear why. Center seating looks feasible at best, nearly unusable for adults at worst.

Porsche has also fitted the Sport Turismo with the first adaptively extendible spoiler in the industry. At 90km/h (56mph), the spoiler moves into what’s called “performance position”. At speeds over 170km/h (106mph), the spoiler adds an additional degree of angle. Rear seats come in a 40:20:40 configuration, allowing for reasonable flexibility for cargo capacity. For the traditionalists, Porsche still offers a two seat option for the rear.

Pricing starts at 97,557 Euro in Germany, climbing up to 123,975. US pricing was not posted at publication, though Porsche Canada lists prices ranging from $109,000CAD to $175,600CAD. Visit the Panamera Sport Turismo site for all the details.
