Summertime is here, and you might be looking to add a convertible to your stable to enjoy the sights and the sounds of the season. While convertibles aren’t as popular as they used to be, there are some good ones out there that just might be worth the look. Here’s a list of 5 that we really enjoy and would happily recommend, in no particular order.

2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata – $24,915

If you hang out on the internet long enough, you’ll learn an acronym. Miata Is Always The Answer (MIATA). It’s because the MX-5 is a darn good sports car. The 4th-generation, called ND, is perhaps one of the best of the group. It’s lighter than before, has modern technology, and drives really well.

Don’t be put off by the 155 horsepower. This car feels fast when you’re driving slow. It’ll put a smile on your face every time you drive it, and will take corners faster than cars nearly 3x the price.

The base car is a great way to go, but if you are going to be driving hard regularly — or might go to a track day — you can opt for the Club package with Brembo brakes and better suspension. The Club also includes a limited slip differential.

The car comes in either automatic or manual transmissions, but go for the stick. It’s one of the best on the market, it’s easy to learn on — if you don’t know how to drive stick, and it’s cheaper for more fun.
